A VIRTUAL MIRROR TO BRING OUT EVERYONE’S INNER GOLD.





For the launch of Jay Z's signature fragrance, Gold, we waned to do an activation that brought out the gold in everyone. On Black Friday, we launched an interactive experience in the window of the Herald Square Macy's that transformed people walking by into liquid gold.

Using some Kinect nonsense, we created a responsive, smooth, and reflective gold surface with enough detail to support a 4k resolution and react to users within 1/30th of a second. This resolution of real time fluid simulation had never been accomplished before.

In only 4 days, we had over 145,000 interactions and got around 3,600 impressions per hour. PR around the launch was huge, and Jay Z Gold hit the top 10 in sales for 3 months after the display went up.
